“We know more about the movement of celestial bodies than about the soil underfoot.” ― Leonardo Da Vinci
With the biostimulant market growing, farmers are faced with many options when choosing tools for improving their systems and soil. EnSoil Algae™ is a unique biostimulant tool because of the mechanism of the living Chlorella vulgaris cells. Chlorella vulgaris is a freshwater, green microalgae, ubiquitous across all ecosystems on the globe, and is optimized by Enlightened Soil Corp’s patent pending growing process. The live cells act as transportation vehicles for soil microbes and chlorophyll (see green box below). There is a symbiotic relationship between EnSoil Algae™, plants, and endophytic soil bacteria. The algae cells attract and carry bacteria into plant roots, delivering chlorophyll – thus promoting growth of root hairs.
While there are multiple algae products currently on the market including broths and extracts, live cells vary greatly. Due to the transportation mechanism shown above, live cell algae promote accelerated root growth, increased nutrient cycling and availability, and improved photosynthetic capacity. Algae broths and extracts only contain phytohormones and metabolites, but no live cells. See below for a comparison of EnSoil Algae™ and commercial algae broth on clover seeds germinating at day 4 and day 12.
